When Infant Clothes No Longer Fit

A few months has passed since you had a baby and now you don't know what to do with the outgrown infant clothes. Now you need a plan of action for what you are going to do with all the baby clothes that are virtually new and fill up a lot of space in your home. There are many useful and fun things you can do when you have outgrown infant clothes.

Save
Do you plan on having another child maybe in a year or a few years time? If you do then these infant clothes will be great for another baby. Sure nobody likes to wear hand me down clothes but your baby won't mind. When your children become bigger they may not like to wear their older siblings clothing. Whether they are a boy or girl, they can wear their sibling's baby clothes and these wills save money the second time round with added convenience and time. Be sure to wash the baby clothing before you reuse them.

Donate

If you do not plan on having anymore children after your baby then you can donate them for children who cannot afford new clothes. The Salvation Army is a great start for this. Keep items if they are your favorite as a token. Maybe you have friends who have children the same age as your own. Get together and have a clothing swap where you can find new infant clothes for your children and at the same time give outgrown clothes to your friends for their children.

Keepsake

Make a box filled with your infant clothes, items and special occasion outfits so you can remember and cherish your memories, as your child becomes older. Add items to this box over the years or create another Mementos box for another child you have.

Restore
Turn your baby's old clothes into timeless creations for your children. Create new infant clothes with material, buttons and pieces from outgrown clothes. Use old tops or bodysuits to make a teddy bear. Give this bear to your child for them to enjoy. The same can be done with jeans and socks that can be made into stuffed dolls. Create a quilt or blanket from pieces of your infant clothes and then give this to them as a keepsake for a wedding or graduation present.
