Children are known for being messy so you may be changing their clothes several times a day. You can make your life simple by buying baby clothes that are easy to open and uncomplicated for fast diaper and clothing changes. The luxury baby clothes may be outgrown quickly so buy big sizes ahead so you can't get caught out later on. Look for the items that feature soft fabrics, wide head openings, finished seams to eliminate scratchy ends and loose fit leg and ankle cuffs. Nightgowns or sleepers should be warm with drawstring openings preferably, for fast nighttime diaper changes. Undershirts are best worn under clothes to protect the baby from rough seams or fabrics. Choose baby clothes that feature a snap that is located under the crotch so the under shirt doesn't ride up.

Make it easy when dressing your child by buying a jacket with a button up front. Some babies don't like clothes that are pulled over the head. Shoes for newborns aren't necessary as many babies won't be doing much walking (for a while anyway).
